St. Vincent De Paul, our heavenly patron succeeded in giving concrete expression to the merciful love of the Lord. He became the inspiring presence of his times that awakened the conscience of humanity. He left indelible marks of human values on the history of 17th century. Pope John Paul II called him “a man of action and prayer, a man of persuasion and imagination, a man of leadership and humble service, a man of yesterday and today”. He founded and promoted massive charitable organizations and for the first time encouraged women to actively participate in the process of social action.
