Gandhi Jayanti, is celebrated by the entire nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of our nation-Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi Jayanti has been declared as International Day of Non-Violence by the United Nations General Assembly on 15th of June 2007.
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated on 3rd October 2019 at De Paul Public School auditorium. Students from class I to V gathered in the assembly hall to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The Programme started with a prayer song, followed by welcome speech, thought for the day and speeches by the students, these highlighted the importance of Gandhi’s great work for the independence of our country. Students from various classes performed a skit to show how Gandhiji enlightened our country with the principles of Non- Violence, Secularism and Equality. The students who dressed up as Mahatma Gandhi quoted his lines showing how he supported these principles. The quiz conducted to test the knowledge about Gandhiji and resulted in the complete involvement of all students assembled in the hall. The students had a wonderful experience to with their friends and families.
