Onam is considered as the biggest harvest festival of the Kerala state celebrated with lot of enthusiasm by people of all communities. Onam celebration at DePaul Public School was conducted on 6th September 2019 with great pomp and joy to bring out the best of Kerala’s culture and tradition which mark the homecoming of Mythical King Mahabali, the memories of his period of peace and prosperity. The celebrations started with our students designing wonderful flower carpets in front of the school. A house-wise ‘Pookkalam competition’ was also conducted, followed by cultural activities which included Thiruvathirakali, Kerala Kesari and Kerala Mankai. Traditional games like Vadamvali added to the zest of the celebrations. The occasion was so colourful with children wearing varied traditional costumes. Payasam was served to the all the students.
